Honors American Literature, more affectionately known as HAMLIT, is one part of American Humanities which is an integrated course blending the study of American Literature with Advanced Placement United States History. Students expand their factual knowledge of both literature and history while also developing their analytical thinking and writing skills. The course presents a chronological study of literature, allowing students to make connections between what they are reading and American history, beginning from European Discovery and continuing through current times.
